R. FORDE <br /> ASSOCIATES IN THE AMOUNT OF $244,800 FOR ANNUAL SANITARY <br /> SEWER REPLACEMENT, CIP NO. 082002 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> Bids have been received for the Annual Sanitary Sewer Replacement project and staff <br /> is recommending award of the construction contract to the lowest responsible bidder, <br /> W. R. Forde Associates, in the amount of $244,800. The project consists of replacing <br /> existing damaged sewer mains, laterals and manholes with industry- standard upgrades <br /> along Vineyard Avenue from Regalia Court to Adams Way (see Attachment 1 for <br /> location map). <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Approve the plans and specifications for this project. <br /> 2. Review the bids received and award the construction contract for the project to <br /> W. R. Forde Associates of Richmond, California, in the amount of $244,800. <br /> 3. Authorize the City Manager to enter into the above construction contract. <br /> 4. Authorize the Director of Community Development to approve and execute <br /> contract change orders for a contingency amount not to exceed $36,720 (15% of <br /> the construction contract), for necessary related subject project work. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The replacement and upgrade of the existing infrastructure will provide a new and <br /> structurally sound sanitary sewer piping system for this area, which will improve carrying <br /> capacity and reduce both current and future maintenance problems and costs. <br />
