2- 6.33,11 Inapplicability of Conflicting Provisions. This article is designed as the sole set of regulations for the design, construction and maintenance of secondary dwelling units for rental purposes on residential lots notwithstanding any other provision of this code. Section 2, Sections 2 -6.14, Article 5 (R -1 One Family Residential Districts) and 2 -6.25, Article 6 (RM Multi family Residential Districts) of Chapter 2, Title II of the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton are amended to add "secondary units for rental purposes as regulated by Article 6,5 of this chapter" as conditional use in the R -1 and RM Districts, Section 3. Notwithstanding any other provision of this code to the contrary this ordinance shall regulate the approval and placement of secondary dwelling units for rental purposes on single family lots. Section 4. If any word, clause, phrase, sentence, section or portion thereof of this ordinance is deemed invalid on any grounds by a court of competent jurisdiction, the City Council declares that its intent is to adopt and enforce the remaining provisions of this ordinance in spite of any such invalidity. Section 5. This ordinance shall be published once within fifteen (15) days after its adoption in "The Valley Times," a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of Pleasanton. Section 6. This ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days after the date of its final passage and adoption. INTRODUCED at the regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Pleasanton on 1983.
