Ordinance No. 1468 <br />Page 5 <br /> <br /> D. Landscaping. Mature, native trees within the <br /> district shall be retained to the maximum extent <br /> feasible. Where feasible, mature oak and other native <br /> species should be relocated to grassland areas planned <br /> for development in order to soften the effect of new <br /> development within the corridor. New development <br /> landscaping shall be predominantly native plant species <br /> in areas visible from Foothill Road, with lawn or turf <br /> areas in landscape schemes adjacent to Foothill Road <br /> either eliminated or hidden by native landscaping. <br /> <br /> E. Retaining Walls. Retaining walls visible from <br /> Foothill Road should be faced with materials compatible <br /> with the natural setting, such as natural stone or wood. <br /> Where feasible, retaining walls should be stepped. <br /> Landscaping shall be incorporated to minimize adverse <br /> visual impacts, with planting in front of walls, within <br /> stepped recesses and/or overhanging the wall. <br /> <br /> F. Fencinq. Open fencing shall be required, <br /> except that solid, privacy fencing may be allowed in <br /> areas of a lot not within required yard areas if it is <br /> screened with landscaping." <br /> <br />Section 2. Rezones all of the properties shown on Exhibit A <br /> within the City limits of Pleasanton as of the date of <br /> this ordinance becoming effective to the West Foothill <br /> Road Corridor Overlay District. <br /> <br />Section 3. Prezones all of the properties shown on Exhibit A <br /> not within the City limits of Pleasanton as of the date <br /> of this ordinance becoming effective to the West <br /> Foothill Road Corridor Overlay District. <br /> <br />Section 4. The Zoning Map of the City of Pleasanton dated <br /> April 8, 1960, on file with the City Clerk, designating <br /> and dividing the City into zoning districts is hereby <br /> amended by Zoning Unit Map No. 390, attached hereto as <br /> Exhibit A dated June 19, 1990, and incorporated herein. <br /> <br />Section 5. The City staff is directed to cause a Notice of <br /> Determination to be filed pursuant to Section 5.4(g) of <br /> Resolution No. 77-66. <br /> <br />Section 6. This ordinance shall be published once within fifteen <br /> (15) days after its adoption in "The Tri-Valley Herald", <br /> a newspaper of general circulation published in the City <br /> of Pleasanton. <br /> <br />Section 7. This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days <br /> after the date of its final passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
