There continues to bc thine <br />subcommi~ees, which include: (1) Business Research (customer survey, business <br />survey, new business infi~rmation packet), (2) Business Rew. n6on (leasing seminar, <br />property owner breakfast ~o discuss the downtown specific plan), and (3) Business <br />Recrui~nent (works ro atixact businesses which will contribut~ to the local character of <br />dowmown Pleasanton). In the pa.~ year, the committee has significantly increased thc <br />involvement of downtow~ Pleasanton prol~rty owners. <br /> <br /> DESIGN: The De, sign Committee includes 3 board members and approximately $ <br />volunteers. This committee is involved in recommending planning and design issues to <br />the City. They are also involved in the specific plan update, and developing design <br />guidelines. In addition, earlier this year, the comminee oversaw the design and thc <br />development of the 'Pleamnton Historic Downtown Walking Tour Brochure'. Beginning <br />this year, the committee has been selecting one downtown property each month to receive <br />the N.E.A.T (Neighborhood Environment Attractiveness Team) Award. Since we started <br />this awar~ the following businesses have been recipients: Gregory Frame Shoppe, <br />RUMA, Claude x, Domi~que's Bistro, The Wine Steward and Doctor Pridemore's <br />Office. <br /> <br />OVERALL ASSESSMENT OF THE PDA FOR THE YEAR: <br /> <br />The PDA had a very, successful year. The following is a synopsis of this year's <br />accomplishments: <br /> <br />The PDA organized a total of 27 downtown events: (4) 1'~ Wednesday Stree! <br />Parties; (14) Concerts in the Park; (1) Hot Rod Heaven: (1) Heritage Days <br />BBQ & Festival; (1) Wine Stroll; (2) Antique Fairs; (1) Rib Cook Off; (l) <br />Halloween Event; and (2) Holiday Events. <br /> <br />The PDA implemented two new downtown events which were a great <br />success: The Great Pleasanton Rib Cook Off(September) and a Wine Stroll <br />(July). <br /> <br />Two historic walking tours of the downtown, led by local historian Charles <br />Huff. were given earlier this year. One was given for residents, and the other <br />to local hotel representatives. <br /> <br />The 'Associate Member' program, now in its second year, increased this year <br />to include approxirnately 90 members. This program is for Tri-Valley <br />businesses that are not physically located in downtown. Associate Members <br />pay an annual fee of $150. <br /> <br /> <br />
