CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 1494 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF pT~ASANTON <br /> AM~NDING CItAPTER 18.08, SECTION 18.08,330, <br /> TAINT2 18.44,090, AND SECTION 18.88,030 OF THE <br /> PT~ASANTON MUNICIPAL CODE, CONCERNING CAR <br /> WASHES AND SERVICE STATIONS <br /> <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Chapter 18.08 (Definitions) of Title 18, Zoning, of <br /> the Pleasanton Municipal Code, is hereby amended by <br /> adding thereto new sections, 18.08.042 and 18.08.049, to <br /> read as follows: <br /> <br /> "18.08.042 Car Wash <br /> <br /> A. 'Car Wash, Full-Service' means a place where motor <br /> vehicles are manually vacuumed and cleaned, drawn <br /> by mechanical conveyor through an enclosed building <br /> tunnel to be manually and/or automatically washed, <br /> dried, and/or waxed, and taken to a final area for <br /> finishing. All such operations are performed by <br /> the car wash operator. Incidental services may <br /> include special wax, polish, and detail operations, <br /> sales of gasoline and other motor fuels, sales of <br /> small gift items, and personal services to waiting <br /> car wash customers. <br /> <br /> B. 'Car Wash, Self-Service' means a place where motor <br /> vehicles are manually vacuumed, cleaned, washed, <br /> and/or waxed by the vehicle operator. <br /> <br /> C. 'Car Wash, Drive-Through' means a place where motor <br /> vehicles are driven by the vehicle operator through <br /> a fully enclosed building tunnel to be <br /> automatically washed, dried, and/or waxed. Drive- <br /> through car washes are typically operated in <br /> conjunction with a service station or self-servlce <br /> car wash. <br /> <br /> 18.08,049 Convenience Market <br /> <br /> 'Convenience Market' means a food market limited to 2,500 <br /> square feet of gross floor area which carries a limited <br /> inventory of food, beverages, and convenience items, but <br /> excluding liquor stores, delicatessens, and specialty <br /> food shops." <br /> <br /> <br />
