CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 1497 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 9 OF ORDINANCE <br /> 1222 AND SECTION 3.20.020 OF THE PLRASANTON <br /> MUNICIPAL CODE, CONCERNING UNIFORM TRANSIENT <br /> OCCUPANCY TAX <br /> <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Section 9 of Ordinance 1222 and Section 3.20.020 of <br /> the Pleasanton Municipal Code are hereby amended to <br /> read as follows: <br /> <br /> "3.20.020 Definitions. <br /> <br /> Except where the context otherwise <br /> requires, the definitions given in this <br /> section govern the construction of this <br /> chapter: <br /> <br /> A. 'Hotel' means any structure, or any <br /> portion of any structure, which is occupied <br /> or intended or designed for occupancy by <br /> transients for sleeping purposes, and <br /> includes any hotel, apartment, apartment <br /> complex, inn, motel, studio hotel, bachelor <br /> hotel, lodginghouse, roominghouse or mobile <br /> home or house trailer at a fixed location, or <br /> other similar structure or portion thereof. <br /> Such mobile home or house trailer subject to <br /> the provisions of this chapter shall be <br /> located outside of a mobile home park and be <br /> for occupancy on a transient basis for <br /> periods of thirty days or less and shall not <br /> include a mobile home park or house trailer <br /> in which a tenant is an employee of the owner <br /> or operator of the mobile home or house <br /> trailer. <br /> <br /> B. 'Occupancy' means the use or <br /> possession, or the right to the use or <br /> possession of any room or rooms or portion <br /> thereof, in any hotel for sleeping purposes. <br /> <br /> (Subsections C-F, no change) <br /> <br /> <br />
