To achieve this reduction, each residential customer <br /> shall reduce their summer water use by 20%, each non- <br /> residential customer shall reduce their summer bimonthly <br /> use by 20%, and each irrigation customer shall reduce <br /> their summer use by 30%. <br /> <br /> STAGE I-D: 25% VOLUNTARY REDUCTION IN WATER USE. <br /> <br /> The director may declare a Stage I-C reduction in water <br /> use and thereby impose a voluntary reduction in water use <br /> as follows: <br /> <br /> A. Every customer shall use no more water than the customer <br /> used during the comparable billing period in 1990, and <br /> every customer shall eliminate wasting potable water in <br /> an effort to aid the City in achieving a twenty-five <br /> percent (25%) reduction in the amount of water used by <br /> all customers during comparable billing periods in 1990. <br /> New customers shall not use in excess of seventy-five <br /> percent of the City's estimated consumption for similar <br /> customers. <br /> <br /> B. To achieve this reduction, each residential customer <br /> shall reduce their summer water use by 25%, each non- <br /> residential customer shall reduce their summer bimonthly <br /> use by 25%, and each irrigation customer shall reduce <br /> their summer use by 35%. <br /> <br />The following measures shall apply to Stages I-A through I-D above: <br /> <br /> C. In addition, the Director shall recommend that all <br /> customers take the following conservation measures: <br /> <br /> 1. Residential Guidelines <br /> <br /> a. Use water conserving appliances, fixtures, and <br /> practices in the kitchen and bathroom. <br /> b. Use shut-off nozzles on all garden hoses. <br /> c. Cover pools when not in use to reduce <br /> evaporation. <br /> d. Start or continue monitoring your daily, <br /> weekly or monthly water use by reading and <br /> recording your water meter totalizer. <br /> e. Water lawns no more than twice weekly and <br /> before 10:00 am; eliminate overspray and run- <br /> off on sidewalks, driveways, streets, and <br /> other non-irrigated areas. <br /> <br /> <br />
