Finding: Mitigation Measure 8-17 Feasible and Required

The City finds that it is feasible to mitigate this impact to a
less-than-significant level by requiring the applicant and
successors in interest to incorporate the specific provisions of
Mitigation 8-17 into the project design. The applicant and
successors in interest shall incorporate such downstream flooding
and sedimentation impact reduction provisions into project design
as a "Condition of Approval" to the project..

Groundwater

Impact: Potential for unstable ground conditions from groundwater

The City finds that improper placement of fill, grading which seals
off or exposes water bearing units, and prolonged or excessive
landscape irrigation may increase the potential for unstable ground
conditions. This is a potential significant impact (Draft EIR,
page 8-19).

Proposed Mitigation Measures of the EIR
The EIR identified the following mitigation measures which w6hld
substantially avoid this impact.

8-19 Control drainage from springs or streams and from fills (Draft
EIR, page 8-19). Said mitigation measure was considered and
adopted with any pertinent changes in Condition 8-19, Exhibit
"B" of the City Council staff report dated June 16, 1992.

8-20 Control drainage of cut slopes (Draft EIR, page 8-19). Said
mitigation measure was considered and adopted with any
pertinent changes in Condition 8-20, Exhibit "B" of the City
Council staff report dated June 16, 1992.

8-21 Evaluate effects of surface drainage system on groundwater
regime (Draft EIR, page 8-20). Said mitigation measure was
considered and adopted with any pertinent changes in Condition
8-21, Exhibit "B" of the City Council staff report dated June
16, 1992.

Findings Mitigation Measures 8-19 through 8-22 Feasible and
Required

The. City finds that it is feasible to mitigate this impact to a
less-than-significant level by requiring the applicant and
successors in interest to incorporate the specific provisions of
Mitigations 8-19 through 8-22 into the project design.
