CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA ORDINANCE NO. 1561 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON AMENDING CHAPTERS 20.04, 20.08, 20.12, 20.16, 20.20, 20.24, 20.28, 20.32, AND 20.34 OF THE PLEASANTON MUNICIPAL CODE, ADDING CHAPTERS 20.48 AND 20.55 TO THE PLEASEON MUNICIPAL CODE, CONCERNING THE ADOPTION OF THE 1991 UNIFORM ADMINISTRATIVE, BUlLDING, PLUMBING, MECHANICAL, FIRE, HOUSING, ABATEMENT OF DANGEROUS BUILDINGS, AND SIGN CODES; THE ADOPTION OF THE 1990 ELECTRICAL CODE; AND ADOPTION OF THE 1991 UNIFORM BUILDING SECURITY AND SWIMMING POOL, SPA AND HOT TUB CODES. WHEREAS, California Health and Safety Code Section 17958.5 allows the City, by ordinance, to make modifications or changes to the State Building Standards Code; and WHEREAS, California Health and Safety Code Section 17958.5 requires that such changes must be determined to be reasonably necessary; and WHEREAS, California Health and Safety Code Section 18933, requires that Building Standards adopted by state agencies and submitted to the commission for approval shall be accompanied by an analysiswritten by the adopting agency which shall, to the satisfaction of the commission, justify the approval thereof in terms of certain criteria; and WHEREAS, California Health and Safety Code Section 18933 (a)7(A), allows that if a national specification, published standard, or model code does not adequately address the goals of the state agency, a statement defining the inadequacy shall accompany the proposed building standard when submitted to the commission; and WHEREAS, such findings must be made available as a public record; and WHEREAS, the City Council hereby determines that the proposed ordinance, presented herewith, establishes requirements greater than those set forth in the California State Building Standards Code, as adopted by the City of pleasanton and as set forth herein in Section 20.08.035 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code; and 1
