CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 1561 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON AMENDING CHAPTERS <br /> 20.04, 20.08, 20.12, 20.16, 20.20, 20.24, 20.28, 20.32, AND <br /> 20.34 OF THE PLEASANTON MUNICIPAL CODE, ADDING CHAPTERS 20.48 <br /> AND 20.55 TO THE PLEASEON MUNICIPAL CODE, CONCERNING THE <br /> ADOPTION OF THE 1991 UNIFORM ADMINISTRATIVE, BUlLDING, <br /> PLUMBING, MECHANICAL, FIRE, HOUSING, ABATEMENT OF DANGEROUS <br /> BUILDINGS, AND SIGN CODES; THE ADOPTION OF THE 1990 ELECTRICAL <br /> CODE; AND ADOPTION OF THE 1991 UNIFORM BUILDING SECURITY AND <br /> SWIMMING POOL, SPA AND HOT TUB CODES. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, California Health and Safety Code Section 17958.5 allows <br /> the City, by ordinance, to make modifications or changes <br /> to the State Building Standards Code; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, California Health and Safety Code Section 17958.5 <br /> requires that such changes must be determined to be <br /> reasonably necessary; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, California Health and Safety Code Section 18933, requires <br /> that Building Standards adopted by state agencies and <br /> submitted to the commission for approval shall be <br /> accompanied by an analysiswritten by the adopting agency <br /> which shall, to the satisfaction of the commission, <br /> justify the approval thereof in terms of certain <br /> criteria; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, California Health and Safety Code Section 18933 (a)7(A), <br /> allows that if a national specification, published <br /> standard, or model code does not adequately address the <br /> goals of the state agency, a statement defining the <br /> inadequacy shall accompany the proposed building standard <br /> when submitted to the commission; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, such findings must be made available as a public record; <br /> and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council hereby determines that the proposed <br /> ordinance, presented herewith, establishes requirements <br /> greater than those set forth in the California State <br /> Building Standards Code, as adopted by the City of <br /> pleasanton and as set forth herein in Section 20.08.035 <br /> of the Pleasanton Municipal Code; and <br /> <br /> 1 <br /> <br /> <br />
