The organization or association that holds the convention must be <br /> non-profit or charitable or, if the organization or association holding the <br /> event is for-profit, then the convention must entirely benefit (minus <br /> operating costs) a charitable organization. Individual vendors at a <br /> convention may be for-profit businesses. <br /> <br /> C. Outdoor vendor areas are limited to convention attendees only and shall <br /> not be open to the general public. <br /> <br /> D. Temporary outdoor sales shall not last longer than five days. <br /> <br /> E. Temporary signs may be used during outdoor convention events when <br /> displayed according to an approved sign plan submitted concurrently with <br /> the application for a temporary conditional use permit for the event. <br /> Allowable temporary signs are limited to: one, non-illuminated "welcome" <br /> banner sign per convention and one, non-illuminated identification sign per <br /> vendor during the event. The "welcome" banner may not exceed 2 ft. in <br /> height by 10 it. in length, shall be affixed on the hotel building wall or <br /> windows, shall be located within 10 it. of the main hotel entrance, and shall <br /> be no higher than 12 it. above the ground floor grade. Individual vendor <br /> signs may not exceed 8 sq. it. in area and shall be installed within the sales <br /> area of the individual vendor. Vendor signs shall be placed no higher than <br /> 8 it. from grade and shall not be oriented towards or attempt to draw <br /> attention from any public street or freeway. The "welcome" and individual <br /> vendor signs may only be displayed during the outdoor event. <br /> <br /> F. No permit shall be granted unless it is found that the operation of the <br /> outdoor sale/display will not be detrimental to the public health, safety, and <br /> general welfare. Conditions may be attached to the permit approval as <br /> necessary to protect the public health, safety, and general welfare." <br /> <br />Section 2: A summary of this ordinance shall be published once within fifteen (15) <br /> days after its adoption in "The Valley Times," a newspaper of general <br /> circulation published in the City of Pleasanton, and the complete ordinance <br /> shall be posted for fifteen (15) days in the City Clerk's office within fifteen <br /> (15) days after its adoption. <br /> <br />Section 3: This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days after the date of its final <br /> passage and adoption. <br /> <br />INTRODUCED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Pleasanton on <br />September 10, 1996. <br /> <br /> <br />
