CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 1689 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 5.28.080 TO <br /> PERMIT CHANGES TO THE MANNER IN WHICH <br /> THE ANNUAL ASSESSMENT IS LEVIED <br /> <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Section 5.28.080 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code is hereby amended to <br /> read as follows: <br /> <br /> Section 5.28.080 System of Assessments <br /> <br /> All businesses, trades or professions within the boundaries of the district <br /> shall be subject to an annual assessment in an amount as follows: <br /> <br /> A. Assessment shall be equal to two times the annual city business <br /> license tax for all businesses located curb-side, downstairs on Main Street, <br /> except that there shall be a minimum assessment of fifty dollars per year <br /> and a maximum assessment of three hundred fifty dollars per years. <br /> <br /> B. Assessment shall be equal to one and one-half times the amount of <br /> the annual city business license tax for all businesses with Main Street <br /> addresses located upstairs or not curb-side, except there shall be a minimum <br /> assessment of fifty dollars per year and a maximum assessment of three <br /> hundred fifty dollars per year. <br /> <br /> C. Assessment shall be equal to the amount of the annual business <br /> license tax for all businesses in the district off of Main Street except there <br /> shall be a minimum assessment of fifty dollars per year and a maximum <br /> assessment of three hundred fifty dollars per year. <br /> <br /> D. Any business exempt from the city's business license tax shall pay an <br /> annual charge of three hundred fifty dollars per year, except as provided by <br /> subsections E and F of this section. <br /> <br /> E. Nonprofit organizations that are exempt from the City's business <br /> license tax shall also be exempt from the annual assessment. <br /> <br /> <br />
