Within 30 days after their appointment, the members shall meet and elect a chair and vice-chair. Thereafter, the members shall each January elect a chair and vice-chair. B. The Director of Parks and Community Services, or the Director's designee, shall staff the Commission. 2.39,070 Attendance Attendance at Commission meetings is subject to Section 2.32,090 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code. 2.39,080 Responsibilities and Powers A. Words or terms which are capitalized in this section shall have the same meaning as provided in Chapter 13.16 of this Code. B. The Civic Arts Commission shall be responsible to the City Council for recommendations regarding the administration of the Public Art Program including the establishing of program policies and guidelines, recommending annual public art budgets and selecting arts juries. It shall also be responsible to the City Council for recommendations regarding the administration of the City Civic Arts Program including establishing program policies, goals and fees. C. The Civic Arts Commission shall be responsible for designating sites, determining project scope and budget, overseeing the artist selection process, commissioning artworks, reviewing design, execution and placement of artworks, and overseeing the process for removal of artworks from the Public Art Collection. D. The Civic Arts Commission shall submit to the City Council for its approval an Annual Public Art Projects Plan with a prioritized list of proposed public art projects, recommended budgets and funding sources and design approaches.
