Within 30 days after their appointment, the members shall <br /> meet and elect a chair and vice-chair. Thereafter, the <br /> members shall each January elect a chair and vice-chair. <br /> <br /> B. The Director of Parks and Community Services, or the <br /> Director's designee, shall staff the Commission. <br /> <br />2.39,070 Attendance <br /> <br /> Attendance at Commission meetings is subject to Section <br /> 2.32,090 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code. <br /> <br />2.39,080 Responsibilities and Powers <br /> <br /> A. Words or terms which are capitalized in this section <br /> shall have the same meaning as provided in Chapter 13.16 <br /> of this Code. <br /> <br /> B. The Civic Arts Commission shall be responsible to the <br /> City Council for recommendations regarding the <br /> administration of the Public Art Program including the <br /> establishing of program policies and guidelines, <br /> recommending annual public art budgets and selecting arts <br /> juries. It shall also be responsible to the City Council <br /> for recommendations regarding the administration of the <br /> City Civic Arts Program including establishing program <br /> policies, goals and fees. <br /> <br /> C. The Civic Arts Commission shall be responsible for <br /> designating sites, determining project scope and budget, <br /> overseeing the artist selection process, commissioning <br /> artworks, reviewing design, execution and placement of <br /> artworks, and overseeing the process for removal of <br /> artworks from the Public Art Collection. <br /> <br /> D. The Civic Arts Commission shall submit to the City <br /> Council for its approval an Annual Public Art Projects <br /> Plan with a prioritized list of proposed public art <br /> projects, recommended budgets and funding sources and <br /> design approaches.
