Ordinance No. 1674 <br />Page 4 <br /> <br /> B. A majority vote of those present shall be required for any <br /> Commission action to be taken. <br /> <br /> 2.38.100 Officers <br /> <br /> The Commission, by majority vote, shall appoint from among its members <br /> a chairperson and vice chairperson for a term of one year. <br /> <br /> 2.38.110 DUties <br /> <br /> A. The Commission shall be responsible to advise the City Council <br /> regarding the affordable housing needs of the community and the <br /> methods whereby said needs may be met. <br /> <br /> B. To carry out its responsibilities, the Commission shall do the <br /> following: <br /> <br /> 1. Initiate and pursue opportunities for developing affordable <br /> housing within the City. <br /> <br /> 2. Cooperate with the private housing industry, City <br /> Commissions and regional agencies to produce new affordable <br /> housing and/or to maintain existing affordable housing. <br /> <br /> 3. Make recommendations to the City Council and/or establish <br /> policies regarding affordable housing projects affiliated with <br /> the City and the Housing Authority including preference and <br /> eligibility criteria for City assisted housing, informational <br /> documents, available grant applications, and new affordable <br /> housing programs. <br /> <br /> 4. In cooperation with the Human Services Commission, review <br /> and make recommendations to the City Council regarding <br /> community development block grant applications for capital <br /> improvement and rehabilitation projects. <br /> <br /> 5. Coordinate the property and financial management and tenant <br /> related issues at affordable housing projects under the control <br /> of the City and/or the Housing Authority of the City of <br /> <br /> <br />
