All Taxicabs must conform <br /> to the color scheme, insignia, or any other <br /> distinguishing characteristics approved by the City <br /> Council. at the same time as the Certificate was approved. <br /> <br /> 6.40,230 Operating Regulations. <br /> <br /> A. Direct Route. Any Driver employed to transport <br /> passengers to a definite point shall take the most direct <br /> route that will take the passenger to the desired <br /> destination safely and expeditiously. If the passenger <br /> wishes to go a route different than the most direct <br /> route, the Driver must record on the Manifest as <br /> described in Section 6.40.260 the route the passenger <br /> wishes to take. <br /> <br /> B. Receipts. If requested, every Driver shall give a <br /> receipt upon payment of the correct fare. In case of a <br /> dispute the matter shall be determined by the officer in <br /> charge at the police station. Failure to comply with <br /> such determination shall subject the offending party to <br /> a charge of misdemeanor. <br /> <br /> C. Refusal to Pay Fare. It is unlawful for any person to <br /> refuse to pay the lawful fare of any of the Taxicabs <br /> regulated by this title after employing or hiring such <br /> Taxicab, and any person who shall hire such Taxicab with <br /> intent to defraud the person from who it is hired shall <br /> be guilty of a misdemeanor. <br /> <br /> D. Number of Passengers. No Driver of any Taxicab shall <br /> accept, take into a vehicle or transport any larger <br /> number of passengers than the rated seat capacity of the <br /> Taxicab. Rated seat capacity shall mean three passengers <br /> in the back seat and two in the front seat of the Taxicab <br /> unless the rated capacity of a Taxicab is otherwise <br /> designated in writing by the Police Chief. <br /> <br /> E. Additional Passenger. Whenever any Taxicab is occupied <br /> by a passenger, or passengers, the Driver shall not <br /> permit any other person to occupy, or ride in, said <br /> Taxicab, except at the specific request of, and <br /> originating with, the original passenger or passengers. <br /> <br /> F. Unattended Taxicabs. It is unlawful for any Taxicab to <br /> remain unattended at any place other than at a duly <br /> designated Open or Closed Stand. It is also unlawful for <br /> any Taxicab to remain unattended in a designated Open <br /> Stand for a period of time longer than five minutes. <br /> This chapter does not impose any restrictions or <br /> regulations regarding unattended Taxicabs in a duly <br /> designated Closed Stand. <br /> <br /> <br />
