'~,'~,,,,,.~ CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 1764 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE PLEASANTON <br /> MUNICIPAL CODE TO ADD A NEW CHAPTER 3.22, <br /> PUBLIC FACILITIES FEE FOR RESIDENTIAL, <br /> COMMERCIAL, OFFICE AND INDUSTRIAL <br /> DEVELOPMENT, AND REPEALING CHAPTER 3.24 <br /> OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO THE <br /> RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION TAX <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the continuing growth of the City of Pleasanton, combined with the <br /> expectation of high quality services by people who live and work in the <br /> City, has been a catalyst for review of the City's existing and future public <br /> facilities; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, public facilities and land are needed for public safety, community services, <br /> and general government uses; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, new development is asked to contribute to the provision of such facilities to <br /> enable the City to provide necessary public services to new residents, <br /> businesses and their employees; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in September of 1997, staff undertook a study of the City's four existing <br /> public facilities fees (e.g. the Residential Construction Tax, two Growth <br /> Management fees, and the Capital Improvement fee) to consider replacing <br /> them with a single Public Facilities Fee; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council held a workshop in March of 1998 to review the <br /> information gathered to that date regarding the Public Facilities Fee Study <br /> and to provide staff additional direction; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Fee Study has been presented to the City's Planning Commission, Parks <br /> and Recreation Commission, and Economic Vitality Commission; and <br /> <br /> Page 1 <br /> <br /> <br />
