RZ-98-03, City of Pleasanton <br />Application to amend the Pleasanton Municipal Code by modifying the process for reviewing <br />seconds units. The Municipal Code amendment would allow the Zoning Administrator to <br />approve or deny a second unit after an administrative hearing and would create development <br />standards for second units in R-1 (Single-Family Residential) and R-M (Multi-Family <br />Residential) zoning districts. <br /> <br />Commissioner Kameny moved that this item be continued until such time that the full Commission is <br />present. Further, that the Housing Commission be given notification of this item being placed on a <br />future agenda. Chairperson Roberts seconded the motion. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Kameny, seconded by Chairperson Roberts, that this item <br />be continued until such time that the full Commission is present. Further, that the Housing <br />Commission be provided notification of this item being placed on a future agenda. <br /> <br />ROLL CALLVOTE <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br />ABSTA1N: <br /> <br />Commissioners Arkin, Kameny, and Chairperson Roberts <br />None <br />Commissioner Kumaran, Maas, and Sullivan <br />None <br /> <br />Item No. 6.d. will be continued to the January 12, 2000 Commission meeting. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued relating to the issue of neighbors objecting to setbacks, the possibility of adding <br />language to the ordinance which would enable the zoning administrator to examine lots 10,000 square <br />feet or over and the Commission reviewing other zoning designations, clarification of the language <br />relating to there being no limit on the number of children in a residence, and clarification of the <br />definition of a "second unit." <br /> <br />7. MATTERS INITIATED BY COMMISSION MEMBERS <br /> <br />Chairperson Roberts requested that staff provide any new information relating to the traffic report. <br /> <br />Chairperson Roberts commented on the height of the newly rebuilt house on Ray Street. Mr. Plucker <br />noted this house has been through the design review process and was developed in conformance with <br />code requirements. <br /> <br />Commissioner Arkin commented on the Rose Pavilion Shopping Center and the need to update its <br />appearance to stay competitive with newly developed centers in the area. He noted that this shopping <br />center would benefit the community as an entertainment destination. He requested that staff inquire <br />whether the owner of the shopping center is planning to renovate the shopping center in the future. <br /> <br />Commissioner Kameny requested an update of the Russ Morgan property. <br /> <br />Chairperson Roberts requested that the Commission members receive minutes from the City Council <br />meetings. <br />PLANN1NG COMMISSION M1NUTES November 30, 1999 <br /> <br /> <br />
