Rene Steinhauer, 5524 Oakmont Cimle, Livermore, noted he was involved in the meeting with the State <br />and County health officials relating to the San Francisco Bernal property. He commented on the <br />Radiological Characterization for the Bemal property report and noted, in his opinion, that the nuclear <br />laundry involved heavier contamination other than just laundering lab coats. He noted that the <br />Tri-Valley Citizens Against a Radioactive Environment, (CARE), will be issuing a report on further <br />studies that need to be performed. He noted that Tri-Valley CARE is not an anti-growth or anti-science <br />group, but a group interested in providing information to citizens of environmental issues. He requested <br />that if Item No. 6.f. is going to be continued to a future meeting, that the Commission make a motion to <br />remove Item No. 6.f. from tonight's agenda. <br /> <br />4. REVISIONS AND OMISSIONS TO THE AGENDA <br /> <br />Mr. Swift stated that Item No. 6.d., PUD-98-15, Mardel, LLC/Costas will be continued to the September <br />22, 1999, meeting; Item No. 6.e., RZ~98-03, City of Pleasanton has been continued to the September <br />22, 1999, meeting; and, Item No. 6.f., SP-95-02,PUD-96-06, San Francisco Water Department Bernal <br />Property, has been continued to a future meeting. <br /> <br />5. MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br /> <br />There were none. <br /> <br />6. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> <br />UP-99-34, Etienne DeGroot <br />Application for a conditional use permit for an approximately 693-square-foot attached <br />second unit to the proposed residence located at 105 Via di Salerno. Zoning for the <br />property is PUD (Planned Unit Development) - A/OS/LDR (Agriculture/Open Space/Low <br />Density Residential) District. <br /> <br />Mr. Plucker referenced a staff report dated September 8, 1999, and highlighted key areas contained in <br />the report including background information, project description, and land use compatibility. In <br />conclusion, he noted that stafCs recommendation is that the Commission approve Case UP-99-34 subject <br />to the conditions listed in Exhibit "B." <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING WAS OPENED <br /> <br />The applicant noted he had nothing to add to staff's presentation. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING WAS CLOSED <br /> <br />Commission Sullivan noted he would be in favor of approving the application. <br /> <br />Commissioner Maas noted she would be in favor of approving the application; however, she commented <br />on the condition relating to the number of adults allowed in secondary units and inquired whether there <br />was a condition for limitation for the number of children in a unit.
