PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> <br />.AP-99-04 (Z-99-48}, Larry and Suzan Dingman <br />Appeal of the Zoning Administrator's approval to allow the construction of an approximately <br />590-square-foot, 14-foot tall, two-car, side-entry garage at the front of the existing residence <br />located at 387 Sycamore Road. Zoning for the property is PUD (Planned Unit Development) <br />-MDR (Medium Density Residential) District. <br /> <br />Chairperson Kumaran expressed his desire to continue this hearing due to one of the parties requesting a <br />continuance and to allow additional time for the parties to resolve issues. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Kameny, seconded by Commissioner Roberts, to continue <br />item 4.a. to the July 28, 1999 Planning Commission meeting. Further, authorizing staff to revoke <br />the appeal if a solution satisfactory to the neighbors and applicant can be reached. <br /> <br />ROLLCALLVOTE <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br />ABSTAIN: <br /> <br />Commissioners Kameny, Maas, Roberts, Sullivan, and Chairperson Kumaran <br />None <br />None <br />None <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING WAS OPENED <br /> <br />Larry Dingman, the applicant, questioned the Commission's decision to continue the hearing and <br />expressed concern with postponing the hearing. <br /> <br />SP-95-02, PUD-96-06, San Francisco Water Department Bernal Propert~r <br />The San Francisco Water Department Bemal Property is an approximately 51 O-acre site <br />consisting of three basic land units: a 202-acre Western Parcel between Interstate 680 (I-680) <br />and the Arroyo de la Laguna south of Bernal Avenue; a triangular-shaped Central Parcel of <br />approximately 245 acres bounded by 1-680 on the southwest, Bernal Avenue on the north, and by <br />the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) right-of- way on the southwest; and an Eastern Parcel of <br />about 63 acres between the UPRR and the Alameda County Transportation Corridor (formerly <br />the South Pacific Railroad right-of-way) south of Junipero Avenue. <br /> <br />The project is comprised of a number of land use approvals which together make up the project, <br />as follows: <br />Approval of the Bernal Property Specific Plan for the 510-acre site to allow development of up to <br /> 1,900 residential units, up to 755,000 square feet of commercial/office space, an 18-hole golf <br /> course, parks, an elementary school, and associated uses. <br /> Approval of corresponding zoning actions as follows: <br />Prezone the 439.7 acres of the B ernal Property in unincorporated Alameda County to <br /> Pleasanton's Planned Unit Development (PUD) District <br /> <br />PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES Page 2 June 28, 1999 <br /> <br /> <br />
