PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> <br />PUD-98-06, Braddock & Logan <br />(1) Reconsideration of an application for: PUD rezoning of a one-acre parcel located at <br />1635 Rose Avenue from the A (Agriculture zoning district to the PUD (Planned Unit <br />Development) - MDR (Medium Density Residential) zoning district; and for PUD <br />development plan approval for 32 lots, ranging in size from approximately 8,000 square <br />feet to 13,000 square feet, on 13.3 acres located at 1635, 1777, and 1851 Rose Avenue, <br />generally at the westerly terminus of Rose Avenue. Zoning for the property is A <br />(Agriculture) and PUD (Planned Unit Development)-MDR (Medium Density Residential <br />District. The Planning Commission will also consider the Negative Declaration prepared <br />for the project. <br />(2) Determination as to whether the Planning Commission shall recommend to the City <br />Council that a specific plan be prepared for the remaining unapproved Rose Avenue <br />properties. <br /> <br />Mr. Iserson referenced a staff report dated February 10, 1999 and highlighted key areas contained in the <br />staff report including background information, project description, reconsideration, specific plan action, <br />PUD rezoning, development plan, and Planning Commission options. Mr. Iserson noted that in addition <br />to the option of a specific plan for the Rose Avenue property, additional options are available including: <br />(1) study certain issues with respect to the area without embarking on an actual Specific Plan; (2) initiate <br />of a study for the Rose Avenue area by having staff provide a report or having the City Council adopt a <br />moratorium or urgency ordinance which would create a freeze on new development for up to one year; <br />(3) or, include the Rose Avenue area between the Pleasanton Fairgrounds and Valley Avenue within the <br />Downtown Specific Plan.
