She explained that when the City acquires property for public <br />ptuposes it is required to make a find'rog that the acquisition of the property conforms with the <br />City's adopted General Plan. She advised that the property located at the comer of Vineyard and <br />Bernal Avenues is being acquired for the widening of the Bernal Avenue bridge and intersection <br />improvements. Ms. Sero reported that the City has negotiated an agreement with the property <br />owner who is present this evening. She noted that a draft mitigated negative declaration for the <br />project will be presented to the City Council at its January 9 meeting when the Council <br />considers the property acquisition. Ms. Seto cited policies in the Oeneral Plan with which the <br />property acquisition would conform. She also provided information regarding the funding of the <br />project. She advised that a resident of the nearby mobile home park contacted the City <br />indicating that he supported the City's acquisition of the property and that his concern was that <br />the current property owner's tree branches extend into his property and drop leaves, and he <br />would like to see the City purchase the property and resolve that problem. <br /> <br />PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES November 28, 2000 Page 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
