Continued to October 11, 2000.

7. MATTERS INITIATED BY COMMISSION MEMBERS

Commissioner Kameny noted that on Monday and Tuesday he was unable to get through
the intersection from Main Street to Neal because of the line of ears waiting to turn into
the dairy which was backed up to Main Street. Mr. Swift noted that the Traffic
Committee is reviewing this problem and consideration is being given to creating a left
turn pocket at the entrance to the dairy.

Commissioner Arkin questioned if enything can be done to require that buyers receive
~omething in writing about potential uses of surrounding properties. Discussion ensued
regarding how this matter can be addressed. It was suggested that this item be returned to
a future meeting with some examples for the Commission's review.

Commissioner Roberts advised that as liaison to the Housing Commission she received a
list of apmlment rentals and the rental rates. She distributed copies to the other
commissioners.

Commissioner Roberts noted that the building at the comer of Bernai and California has
sheet metal awnings and pillars that look like/in cans. Mr. Pavan advised that the
proposal included corrugated metal columns and awnings and the building was built as
approved. He advised that he would talk to the building owner about having the sheet
metal painted.

8. MATTERS FOR COMMISSION'S REVIEW/ACTION

a.
