There was also support for a water feature that would connect the <br />village common area and the aparmients. <br /> <br />The Commission supported relocating the carport structure closest to Valley Avenue and <br />increasil~g the landscaping in this area. It was noted that applicant is working to prepare visuals <br />that would be available prior to the next meeting. <br /> <br />Commissioner Arkin stated that he does not want one color for all of the units. The applicant <br />noted that a color board would be provided for review. <br /> <br />Commissioner Arkin asked if Green Building practices would be implemented for the <br />apartments. No decision was reached by the Commission on this issue. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued regarding the possibility of providing a day care facility on the location <br />adjacent to the retail area. <br /> <br />The issue of parking along the street between the Village Commons and the apartments was <br />referred to staff for resolution. <br /> <br />Commissioner Karneny questioned if there would he a focal point at the Bemal Avenue enmmce <br />into the residential area on the Western Parcel. Mr. Costanzo advised that this would remain as a <br />rural area. He noted that there will be a public art piece in the Village Commons area. <br />Discussion ensued regarding landscaping and maintenance of the access of the Western Parcel <br />from Bernal Avenue. <br /> <br />Commissioner Maas stated that she would like to see the water aspect on the north enmmce <br />e~panded.
