Ms. Varela requested that the public noticing process be clarified for residents and that the <br />notices inform the property owner how the hearing could affect them. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING WAS CLOSED <br /> <br />(Recess taken from 10:20 p.m. to 10:25 p.m.) <br /> <br />On Commission consensus, it was ordered that the agenda be taken out of order. <br /> <br />11. MATTERS FOR COMMISSIONER'S INFORMATION <br /> <br />a. l~uit~ljng r~rmit nians submitted for the anDroved Develooment Plan for an affordable <br /> ~nior assisted-living residential facility (Stoneridge Villas) located at the corner of <br /> Foo01ill Road/Stoneridge Drive/Pleasant Hill Road. <br /> <br />Mr. Plucker provided an overview of a staff report dated April 26, 2000 relating to the project. <br /> <br />Davis Slajchert, Willow Partners, provided an overview of the facility including a market study <br />tl~t was conducted, financial allocations, medical services provided, transportation corridors, <br />and the need for a senior facility in this area. <br /> <br />Chairperson Roberts advised the Commission that the Housing Commission has unanimously <br />endorsed this project. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued relating to federal monies allocated for the facility, this facility not offering <br />medical services, facility being an independent living facility for seniors, rates charged for rent, <br />tl~ transportation that will be offered to residents, and the number of parking spaces available. <br /> <br />Commissioner Kameny spoke in favor of the project and the low rents offered. <br />Commissioner Arkin expressed concern with the aesthetics of the architecture. <br /> <br />Commissioner Maas expressed concern with the number of parking spaces, and inquired as to <br />tile landscaping that would be utilized in regard to views from Foothill Road. <br /> <br />Mr. Slajchert advised that the majority of cars belong to staff and visitors and he noted that <br />landscape plans have been reviewed by staff. <br /> <br />Commissioner Maas noted it is a great project. <br /> <br />Commissioner Sullivan commented on the need for a senior facility in Pleasanton and stated it is <br />a great concept. However, he expressed concern with thc process and with having a 15-year old <br />PUD. He expressed concern with the size of the structure at this location, the facility's impacts <br />on Waffle, and with traffic studies not being conducted for this project.
