West Foothill Road Overlay District <br />Application to amend the Pleasanton Municipal Code by amending Chapter 18.78, West <br />Foothill Road Corridor Overlay District Guidelines. The amendment would enlarge the <br />boundaries of the district to include all residential land west of Foothill Road (including <br />properties on or near Dublin Canyon Road and properties west of the 670-foot elevation <br />contour line within the City's sphere of influence boundary.) The amendment would also <br />create new standards to: (1) help reduce the visual impacts of development on or near <br />Dublin Canyon Road and west of the 670-foot elevation contour line; and (2) maintain/ <br />enhance the rural character of development on or near Dublin Canyon Road and west of <br />the 670-foot elevation contour line within the City's sphere of influence boundary. <br /> <br />Mr. Plucker referenced a staff report dated April 26, 2000 and highlighted key areas contained in <br />the report including background information, the April 4, 2000 City Council meeting, project <br />description, sphere-of-influence, urban growth boundary, annexation, properties north of Dublin <br />Canyon Road, FAR relationship to lot size, clustering requirements, fees for tree removal, <br />applications to prior development, and public comment. He advised the Commission that an <br />additional issue has arisen that is not contained in the staff report relating to requiring a main or <br />Pleasanton ridge background when viewed from Dublin Canyon Road or Interstate 1-580. Mr. <br />Plucker advised that staff's recommendation is that the Commission incorporate language <br />relating to "when viewed from Dublin Canyon Road or Interstate 1-580, that a hillside be used as <br /> <br />PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES April 26, 2000 Page 5 <br /> <br /> <br />
