Commissioner Kameny requested that Page 4, fourth paragraph, be amended to read, "the first
two sentences of Condition 27 regarding the cross easements shall be deleted with the issue
being resolved at the tentative map stage."

Commissioner Sullivan requested that Page 5, sixth paragraph, be amended to read,
"Commissioner Sullivan expressed concern with the home on Lot 7 being built in a twelve foot
hole in order to get the project approved and inquired who would purchase this home and noted
this is ridiculous."

The April 12, 2000, Planning Commission minmes were approved, as amended.

There

5.

There

6.

MEETING OPEN FOR ANY MEMBER OF THE AUDIENCE TO ADDRESS
THI~ PLANNING COMMISSION ON ANY ITEM WHICH IS NOT ALREADY
ON AGENDA

were none.

~EVISIONS AND OMISSIONS TO THE AGENDA

were Hone.

M~TTEILg CONTINUED FOR DECISION

were none.

Application for design review approval to install signs for the Olde Towne Antiques
business in the multi-tenant building located at 3440 Stanley Boulevard. Zoning for the
property is C-S (Service Commercial) District.

Mr. Plucker referenced a staff report dated April 26, 2000, and highlighted key areas contained
in the report including background information, existing sign program, project description, and
proposent signage. In conclusion, he noted that staff's recommendation is that the signage for the
store be consistent with the signage for the other businesses in the center, and that the applicants
utilize other forms of advertising to attract customers to its new location. Further, that signage
be limited to the previously approved, two existing cabinet signs on the front facade facing
Stanley Boulevard and allow the retention of the neon "Antiques" sign and one "Open" sign in
the storefront windows.

Discussion ensued relating to a clarification between "antique store" versus "furniture store,"
adequacy of parking, whether the size of store has been taken into consideration for signage, and
the monument sign.

PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES April 26, 2000 Page 2
