MATTERS INITIATED BY COMMISSION MEMBERS <br /> <br />Commissioner Maa~ noted that parents are utilizing Martin Avenue as a pick up spot for school <br />children. She noted that this is a rural road and heavily traveled and she suggested that a <br />crosswalk be installed at the entrance to Martin Avenue. <br /> <br />Commissioner Moan inquired whether a playground was planned for the open area in the Moiler <br />Ranch development. Mr. Plucker responded that this was planned as an open space area. <br />Commissioner Sullivan commented positively on the trail in the Moller Ranch development. <br /> <br />Commissioner Sullivan inquired whether the John Madden house contains part of the original <br />Bemal Adobe. Mr. Plucker responded that the Adobe is preserved on the inside. <br /> <br />Chairperson Roberts inquired whether staffhas any information relating to changing the name of <br />Del Valle Parkway. Mr. Swift provided an overview of the proposed name change and noted <br />that this issue is being brought before the City Council. <br /> <br />In response to an inquiry by Commissioner Arkin, Commissioner Sullivan noted he is still <br />following up on a representative from the Green Building Council addressing the Commission. <br /> <br />In response to an inquiry by Commissioner Arkin, Mr. Plucker noted the Madden Hotel is in the <br />plan check stage. <br /> <br />PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES February 23, 2000 Page 12 <br /> <br /> <br />
