The parcel has a General Plan land use designation ofRetaillHighway/Service <br />Commercial, Business and Professional Office. MAnERS INITIATED BY COMMISSION MEMBERS <br /> <br />r' <br /> <br />Commissioner Maas initiated discussion relating to recognizing homeowners who take <br />exceptional care of their property. Mr. Plucker noted that staff will examine that issue. <br />Commissioner Maas commented on the number of people who misplace their cars at Stoneridge <br />Mall and suggested that some type of emblem, reflective of the Valley such as grapes, be <br />installed in sections of the parking lot. She noted further that many of the emergency phones are <br />out of order. <br /> <br />Chairperson Roberts initiated discussion relating to having designated parking for zero-emission <br />vehicles in close proximity to stores. Commissioner Arkin suggested that this item be agendized <br />for discussion at a future meeting, with a recommendation made to the City Council. <br />Mr. Plucker noted that many of these issues would be addressed at the design review level. He <br />suggested that the Commission consider directing staff to incorporate standard conditions <br />relating to U.S. Green Building Council building standards, smoking locations, and designated <br />parking for zero-emission vehicles. <br /> <br />Commissioner Sullivan inquired whether the Commission is interested in having a presentation <br />by the U.S. Green Building Council or a similar organization on measures for energy-efficiency. <br />The Commission expressed its interest in having such a presentation as well as in having <br />quarterly workshops on various matters to educate the Commission. <br /> <br />r <br />, <br /> <br />PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES <br /> <br />February 9, 2000 <br /> <br />Page 15 <br />
