r Commissioner Maas inquired whether Mr. Doscher would be amenable to the neighbors paying to remove the fencing and installing wrought-iron fencing at their expense for the 19 feet of solid fencing. Mr. Doscher noted he would agree to that. PUBLIC HEARING WAS CLOSED. Commissioner Maas commented on the difficulty of resolving neighborhood disputes and noted that it is not the Commission's role to act as judges. She noted that she visited the site, and the Poirier's views were affected by the installation of the fence. She noted she is trying to reach a satisfactory compromise for both parties and that on other projects, solid fencing is allowed to extend to the end of the house. She expressed concern with the relationships between neighbors deteriorating over property disputes. Commissioner Maas inquired whether Mr. Poirier would be willing to pay for wrought-iron fence for 19 feet. Mr. Poirier noted his agreement. A moden was made by Commissioner Maas, seconded by Chairperson Roberts, that the appeal be denied, thereby upholding the Zoning Administrator's determination that the IMt 19 leet of solid fencing adjacent to the Doscher's northern side property line must be removed and, if fencing is desired, replaced with open view fencing installed in confo....ance with the fencing guideUnes stated in the "Fire Protection and Landscape GuideUnes for The Preserve"; with a recommendation that the applicant work with the neighbor to resolve fencing issues.
