<br />r-. <br />. <br /> <br />Commissioner Arkin requests there be encouragement for the tenants of the development to be a Silicon <br />Valley Company. <br /> <br />Commissioner Sullivan noted that a 1000 square foot radius notification is not adequate for projects of <br />this magnitude and he requested that the 1000 square foot notification range be broadened to ensure <br />public input. Mr. Swift noted that the notification range was beyond 1000 square feet. Commissioner <br />Sullivan expressed concern with traffic build out along Sunol Boulevard and a six-lane road that filters <br />into a two-lane road. He requested that the Urban Forestry fund be utilized on this project, if there is <br />removal of heritage trees. Commissioner Sullivan expressed concern with a 60 foot setback for the <br />transportation corridor. He noted there is no policy for redevelopment of existing sites and <br />contaminated sites and that there should be discussion on these items prior to approval of developments. <br />He expressed concern, due to the uncertainty of the San Francisco Bernal site, oflimiting options on this <br />site. He noted he is still in favor of mixed use residential/commercial/office adjacent to transit on this <br />site and he noted that the City is running out of places for affordable housing. <br /> <br />Chairperson Roberts moved that a resolution be adopted recommending approval of Case PUD-98-07, <br />subject to the condition shown in Exhibit B, and including design guideline features that will include <br />that the architecture will be compatible to a campus like setting; that energy efficiency means are <br />utilized to run buildings; that energy efficiency is examined as referenced by the U.S. Green Building <br />Council; that the Urban Forestry Fund be utilized for removal of heritage trees; that Silicon Valley <br />companies be encouraged to relocate to Pleasanton to purchase the property; that no lakeside <br />development, except for accessory structures be allowed, that the loop trail be public if the single <br />purchaser does not require security; and that a Comprehensive Transportation Management Plan be <br />developed. <br /> <br />r <br /> <br />A metion was made by Chairperson Roberts, seconded by Commissioner Arkin, that a resolution <br />be adopted recommending approval of Case PUD-98-07, subject to the conditions shown in <br />Exhibit B, and the January 12, 2000 memorandum; and including design guideline features that <br />will include that the architecture will be compatible to a campus like setting; that energy efficiency <br />me..s are utilized to run buildings; that energy efficiency is examined as referenced by the U.S. <br />Green BuWing Council; that the Urban Forestry Fund be utilized for removal of heritage trees; <br />that Sillco.
