PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. PC-99-21 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION FINDING THE ACQUISITION BY THE PLEASANTON UNIFIED <br />SCHOOL DISTRICT OF AN APPROXIMATELY 11-ACRE SITE FOR A PROPOSED <br />ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IS IN CONFORMANCE WITH THE PLEASANTON <br />GENERAL PLAN <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Pleasanton Unified School District has requested confirmation that the <br />proposed acquisition of an approximately 11-acre site generally located on the <br />west side of Case Avenue, south of the existing Pleasanton Middle School, for a <br />proposed elementary school is in conformance with the Pleasanton General Plan; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the site is within an unincorporated area of Alameda County, but within the City's <br /> Planning Area and Sphere of Influence; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />at its duly noticed meeting of February 24, 1999, the Planning Commission <br />considered all public testimony, relevant exhibits, and recommendations of the <br />city staff concerning this matter; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Pleasanton Unified School District, as lead agency, prepared and circulated an <br />Initial Study and adopted a Mitigated Negative Declaration for the school site <br />acquisition and construction of the school pursuant to CEQA guidelines; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission noted strong concerns regarding traffic impacts that the <br /> location of the proposed elementary school may impose; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Planning Commission finds that the proposed Pleasanton Unified School <br />District's acquisition of an approximately 11-acre site generally located on the <br />west side of Case Avenue, south of the existing Pleasanton Middle School, for the <br />purpose of constructing a new elementary school is in conformance with the <br />Pleasanton General Plan. <br /> <br /> <br />
