COMMUNITY OF CHARACTER <br /> <br />Goal: <br /> <br />Build a communitywide effort to make Pleasanton a "Community of Character". (Character <br />is the nature of a person with the courage to care about doing the right thing regardless of <br />pressures and conflicts - being able to choose right over wrong, especially in complex <br />situations.) <br /> <br />Objectives: <br /> <br />· Set up a Community of Character Steering Committee; solicit membership; meet and <br /> discuss. (*+) <br /> <br />· Facilitate youth education about character building through literature. (* +) <br /> <br />Note: The Liaison Committee recognizes that the District's Strategy Six Committee on <br />character education is currently addressing this obiective and sees great value in including <br />them on a communitywide committee.
