II. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION. 6-92, adopted 13, 1966, <br />ADOPTING PO FOR A RECREATI IT OUP SPONSORSHIP <br /> AND CLASSIFICATION <br /> <br />General <br /> <br />A. <br /> <br /> That City-owned recreation and park facilities or any facilities which <br /> the City has rights to use through leases and/or agreements are to be <br /> used primarily for the people of Pleaaanton: (1) informally, (Z) through <br /> the activity program of the department(s), (3) in conjunction with Joint <br /> school and city recreation programs, (4) through groups organized to <br /> promote one or more specific interest areas of recreation. <br /> <br />B. That, certain recreation groups dependent upon their nature, program, <br /> and if they meet other criteria listed herein, may be entitled to <br /> extended servioes and assistance from the City for their phase of the <br /> Community Leisure Opportunities Program. <br /> That, in general, recreation programs which are for public use, open to <br /> all, and so organized and conducted as to be consistent with the aims <br /> and principles of the Recreation Department should be allowed use of <br /> City owned and/or controlled facilities without coat when feasible. <br /> That, charges for use of park and recreation facilities owned or con- <br /> trolled by the City will be graduated in scale and in direct proportion <br /> to the type of group using such facilities. (See Sec. II for definition <br /> of these groups). <br /> <br />E. That, certain activities which have no immediate relation to the general <br /> purposes of the Community Leisure Opportunities Program should be dis- <br /> oouraged from the use of City owned or controlled recreation and park <br /> facilities. When use is granted, such use should have low priority, be <br /> charged a fee comparable to commercial rates, for temporary use only, <br /> and should not compete or' detract from the Community Leisure Opportuni- <br /> ties Program. <br /> <br />F. This policy of sponsorship provides for various levels of assistance to <br /> different types of groups and specifies what requirements shall be met <br /> for qualification of this assistance. However, all parties are to note <br /> that the City is not obligated to fulfill any or all requests of any <br /> particular group requesting assistance, whether or not they meet any or <br /> all requirements for such assistance. <br /> <br /> G. Any group applying for any of the three classifications of sponsorship <br /> status, or for uae of any City recreation facility may be required to <br /> name the City of Pleasanton as '~dditionally Insured". This coverage <br /> would be for Comprehensive General Liability and Property Damage. <br /> cluding Automobile. If a requesting group does not have such insu~ece, <br /> securing this coverage may be required at the discretion of the Recrea- <br /> tion and Park Commission. It shall also be the discretion of the Cora- <br /> mission to specify the minimum limits of such insurance. <br /> When the "Additionally Insured Endorsement" is required, a copy of said <br /> insurance policy or policies or certificate of insurance thereof shall <br /> contain a provision that written notice of cancellatiOn or of any <br /> material change thereof shall be delivered ten (10) days "In advance <br /> of the effective date thereof", to : <br /> The Recreation and Park Commission <br /> City of Pleasanton <br /> Attention: Secretary to the Co~miesion <br /> <br />Types of Groups (Definitions) <br /> <br />A. Sponsored Groups <br /> (1) Co-sponsored - Reserved for community groups whose program serves a <br /> significant number of people, providing a wholesome and desirable <br /> activity, and emphasizes new and expanded recreation skills. <br /> (2) Sanctioned Programs - Meets all above requirements but is limited <br /> in degree in tetmm of numbers served, or .emp~aais on new skills <br /> tausht the pa~ticipant, or eoma othe~ aspect. <br /> <br /> (3) Approved - Worthwhile community activities or projects which are <br /> beneficial to the community but have main values other than <br /> creation or is of a limited recreation value.. <br /> ' "· EXHIBIT A <br /> <br />De <br /> <br /> <br />
