Resolution No. PC-2000-65 <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES THE FOLLOWING: <br /> <br />Section 1. <br /> <br />Recommends to the City Council that a study of electrical power facilities and <br />adoption ora local energy policy/strategy be initiated; and that at a minimum, the <br />Planning Commission, as well as other interested members of the community, be <br />involved in the original scoping session, the recommendation of consultants, and <br />the direction of work product. <br /> <br />Section 2. <br /> <br />Recommends to the City Council that the issues identified as important by the <br />Planning Commission be included in any policy study, as set forth in the excerpt <br />of the minutes of the November 28, 2000 Planning Commission meeting, <br />attached hereto and made part of this case by reference. <br /> <br />Section 3. <br /> <br />Recommends that a moratorium on any power generation plant applications be <br />enacted immediately if the applicants do not voluntarily postpone these <br />applications until completion of the study. <br /> <br />Sectiog 4. <br /> <br />Recommends that action on any CEQA process for particular applications be <br />deferred until the study is completed, based on the expectation that such <br />applications will be voluntarily withdrawn. <br /> <br />Sectiol~ 5. <br /> <br />This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and <br />adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />PLEASANTON ON THE 28TH DAY OF NOVEMBER 2000 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br />ABSTAIN: <br /> <br />Commissioners Arkin, Roberts, and Sullivan <br />None <br />Commissioner Kameny and Maas <br />None <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br />Matt Sullivan <br />Chairperson <br /> <br />APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br /> <br />Assistant City Attorney <br /> <br /> <br />
