Resolution No. PCo2000-52 <br />Page 2 of 4 <br /> <br />The dance studio does not operate or engage in activities that in any way <br />are detrimental to the public health, safety, or welfare, or materially <br />injurious to the properties or improvements in the vicinity. The small <br />class sizes and operation hours pose no threat to increased traffic or any <br />significant impact on parking. Any music played during the class sessions <br />will be at a Iow level so not to interfere with the surrounding businesses. <br />In addition, there is no exterior signage to be placed on the existing <br />building nor are any exterior improvements needed to operate the <br />proposed business. <br /> <br />The proposed conditional use will comply with each of the <br />applicable provisions of the zoning ordinance. <br /> <br />The proposed conditional use permit complies with the purpose of chapter <br />18.44.030. The granting of the conditional use permit to Sally Lovs to <br />operate a dance studio is consistent with the City's ability to regulate <br />zoning as listed in the Municipal Code under "Conditional uses." <br /> <br />the Planning Commission determined that the dance and martial arts <br />classes are compatible with the surrounding uses in the Del Valle plata <br />and would not create adverse impacts. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />PLEASANTON RESOLVES THE FOLLOWING: <br /> <br />Sec~on 1. <br /> <br />Approves Case PCUP-8, the application of Sally Lovs and Mark J. <br />Withrow for a conditional use permit to expand an existing martial arts use <br />permit to allow dance classes to be within an portion of an existing <br />building located at 915 Main Street, Suite C, subject to the conditions <br />shown in Exhibit "B," attached hereto and made part of this case by <br />reference. <br /> <br />Section 2. <br /> <br />This resolution shall become effective 15 days after its passage and <br />adoption unless appealed prior to that time. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY <br />OF PLEASANTON ON THE 23RD DAY OF AUGUST 2000 BY THE FOLLOWING <br />VOTE; <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br />ABSTAIN: <br /> <br />Commissioners Arkin, Kameny, Maas, Sullivan, and Roberts <br />None <br />Commissioner Malmrose <br />None <br /> <br /> <br />
