PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. PC-2000-42 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF THE APPLICATION OF C.J. <br />DOHERTY JR. D.B.A. BUDGET CAR AND TRUCK RENTAL/SALES FOR A <br />CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT, DESIGN REVIEW APPROVAL, AND A VARIANCE, <br />AS FILED UNDER CASE PCUP-11/PDR-44/PV-16 <br /> <br />C.J. Doherty Jr. d.b.a. Budget Car and Track Rental/Sales has applied for: (1) a <br />conditional use permit to conduct car and track rental and sales; (2) design review to <br />constnv~ an approximately 700-square-foot office building and an approximately <br />600-square-foot hand car wash cover; and (3) a variance to allow approximately 9- <br />foot, 8-inch high decorative trellises to encroach within the required front and street- <br />side yard setback located at the northwest comer of Pimlico Drive and Brockton <br />Drive; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, zoning for the property is C-F (Freeway Commercial) District; and <br /> <br />at its duly noticed public hearing of July 12, 2000, the Planning Commission <br />considered all public testimony, relevant exhibits, and recommendations of the <br />City staff concerning this application; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, projects of this nature are categorically exempt from the requirements of the <br /> California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission made the following conditional use permit findings: <br /> <br />The proposed location of the conditional use is in accordance with the <br />objectives of the zoning ordinance and the purpose of the district in which <br />the site is located. <br /> <br />Some of the objectives of the zoning ordinance are to foster a harmonious, <br />convenient, workable relationship among land uses, protect existing land uses <br />from inharmonious influences and harmful intrusions, and ensure that public and <br />private lands ultimately are used for the purposes which are most appropriate and <br />beneficial to the City as a whole. The proposed use would be consistent with <br />these objectives. The conditions of approval would allow the use to be <br />compatible with all of the surrounding uses. <br /> <br /> <br />
