Box ~20
Plmsanmn, CA 94~66-0802

Re:

Proposed Office Bul~difl$ on the Pedro's Restaurant Site in the City of
Pleasanton (TIKM Project 13-459)

Dear Marion:

Tlgs letter is a follow up report to our traffic study dated. ~ March 9, 2001 for the above
referenced project. The purpose of the letter is to evaluate the TSM measures'that have

be~n incorporated into the proposed project.

To recap our traffic study, we found that the office project would generate a net 21
fewer peak trips thn,~ the existing restaurant. The office project would produce 43 more
a.m. peak trips but 64 fewer trips in the sensitive p.m. peak. The 64 fewer trips in the
p.m. peak would consist of 74 fewer trips in the "inbound" direction and I 0 more trips
in the "outbound." direction.

We would also like to point out that the office project would have over 1,000 fewer
average daily trips compared to the restaurant. The restaurant would generate
approximately 1,475 average daily trips while the office project would only generate
about 453 average daily trips. The office project would therefore be taking a lot of
traffic offthe local slreet system.

It is our opinion that the TsM measures incorporated into the project will be extremely
effective and that they should even mitigate the 10 extra p.m. trips in the "outbound"
direction. The measures that have been incorporated into the project include the
foUowing:

1) free passes on the local bus system for all building occupants
2) participation through Hacienda Business Park Owners Association in the
Alameda County guaranteed ride home program
3) preferential parking for carpools and vanpools
4) two separate shower facilities
5) covered bike parking

42.14 Hacienda D~ve.
