CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORFNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 71-185 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OF APPLICATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is desirable that overlapping and/or duplicating <br /> governmental entities be eliminated where possible in <br /> order to reduce the cost of government; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Pleasanton Township County Water District has indica- <br /> ted its willingness to terminate its operations if a <br /> successor willing to assume responsibility for winding up <br /> its affairs can be found; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES <br />HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> 1. That the City of Pleasanton initiate proceedings pursuant <br /> <br /> to the District Reorganization Act at 556000, et seq., of <br /> the Government Code and more specifically 556195 thereof <br /> for a change of organization, to wit, the dissolution of <br /> the Pleasanton Township County Water District <br /> <br /> 2. The names of affected or possibly affected cities, <br /> counties and districts are as follows: <br /> <br /> Alameda County <br /> <br /> Pleasanton Township County Water District <br /> <br /> Zone 7 of Alameda County Water Conservation and <br /> Flood Control District <br /> <br /> Alameda County Mosquito Abatement District <br /> <br /> Amador Valley Joint Union High School District <br /> of Alameda and Contra Costa Counties <br /> <br /> Pleasanton Elementary School District <br /> Murray Elementary School District <br /> 3. The area within Pleasanton Township County Water District <br /> is inhabited and is more particularly described in <br /> Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated fully by <br /> reference herein. <br /> <br /> <br />
