CITY OF PLEAS~NTON COUNTY OF ALAMEDA STATE' OF CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 73-140 A RESOL~TION ESTABLISHING A POLICY REGARDING T~E USE OF HOLDING TANKS IN ~HE CITY OF PLE~SANTON WHEREAS, Article 3, Chapter B, Title II of the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton prohibits the p~iyate disposal of sewage by any msans other than connection to the municipal sewer system except by special permit granted by the City Council; and WHEREAS, the City Council adopted a policy pertaining to private sewage disposal systems on October 18, 1971; and WEEAS, since the adoption of the above policy, a greater demand for private sewage disposal systems has occurred due to the inability of the City and Valley Community Services District to supply public sewage disposal facilities to areas within the City of Pleasanton that are ready for development; and WEEREAS, the City Council is desirous Of modifying its October 18, 1971 policy in light Of present circumstances. NO~, THEEFOE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Sec~ion 1. The following policy shallgovern the consideration of requests for the use of holding tanks within the City of Pleasanton. 1. When applicable, any request for a holding tank, made pursuant to this policy, shall be filed concurrently with or subsequent to a request for a variance from the provialons of Article l, Title II of the Ordinance Code of the City of PleasantSn. Said variance shall be filed in accordance with the provisions of ~2~IB~B~ of said Co~e. 2. Holding tanks will be considered for commercial and industrial uses as an interim means of disposing Of sewage until such time as it is possi~Ie fo~ oonnections to be made to a public sewage disposal system.
