The seven (7) days of administrative leave will be credited to each management employee dudng the fimt pay pedod in January 2001 and during the first pay pedod in January of each succeeding year?) Managers may choose to be paid for one-half of their unused administrative leave on the firat pay day in May and for all of their unused administrative leave on the first pay day in November. All managers with unused administrative leave as of December 31st will be paid for said leave dudng the first pay period in January of the succeeding year. Management employees hired during the year proceeding January 1st shall on January 1st receive a prorated administrative leave for each full month of employment. 7,7 Leaves of Absence 7.7(1) Leaves of Absence Without Pay The City Manager may grant a management or confidential employee leave of absence without pay or seniority not to exceed three (3) months. No such leave shall be granted except in writing and upon written request of the employee setting forth the reason therefor, Upon expiration of a regularly approved leave, the employee shall be reinstated in the position held at the time leave was granted. Failure on the part of an employee on leave to report promptly at its expiration or within a reasonable time after notice to return to duty shall be cause for discipline up to and including termination. Department directors may grant full-time middle management and confidential employees leave of absence without pay for not to exceed one (1) calendar week. Such leaves shall be reported to the Deputy City Manager/Director of Human Resources. 7.7(2) Jury Leave Management and confidential employees called or required to serve as a juror shall be entitled to leave from his/her duties with the City dudng the period of such service or while necessadly being present in court as a result of such call.
