CITY COUNCIL OF THE CH'Y OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY. CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 99-140 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PLACING ON THE <br />MARCH 7, 2000 REGULAR ELECTION A CITY COUNCIL <br />SPONSORED ADVISORY MEASURE CONCERNING <br />PUBLIC SUPPORT FOR GROUNDWATER INJECTION OF <br />RECYCLED WATER USING REVERSE OSMOSIS <br />TECHNOLOGY, DIRECTING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO <br />PREPARE AN IMPARTIAL ANALYSIS OF THE <br />INITIATIVE, AUTHORIZING ARGUMENTS CONCERNING <br />THE MEASURE, ALLOv~VING REBUTTAL ARGUMENTS <br />REGARDING THE MEASURE, AND REQUESTING <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY TO CONDUCT THIS ELECTION IN <br />CONJUNCTION WITH THE MARCH 7, 2000 REGULAR <br />ELECTION <br /> <br />WIIEREAS, pursuant to California Elections Code §306, the City Council may submit to the <br /> voters an advisory question; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />on December 7, 1999, ate Council detemlined to place on the ballot an advisory <br />measure concerning the level of public support for groundwater injection of <br />recycled water using reverse osmosis technology; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Elections Code §9282 sets forth the procedures for arguments in favor of or in <br /> opposition to any city measure; mid <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 9285 of the Elections Code sets forth the procedures for rebuttal <br /> arguments. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE C[TY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: <br /> <br />That a City Council sponsored advisory measure regarding public support for <br />groundwater injection of recycled water using reverse osmosis technology be <br />placed on file ballot for the March 7, 2000 Regular Election. The measure shall be <br />designated by letter by the Alameda County Registrar. <br /> <br /> <br />
