Resolution No. 99-139 <br />Page Two <br /> <br />Section 1: <br /> <br />Section 2: <br /> <br />Request toConduct an Election. <br /> <br />The Board of Supervisors of the County of Alameda and the Alameda County <br />Clerk, Elections Division, are hereby authorized to pmpe~y and lawfully hold and <br />conduct a mtmicipai election in the City on March 7, 2000, pursuant to the <br />Ordinance, including but not restricted to the providing and printing of ballots and <br />polling place cards, election supplies, voting booths, flags, registration lists and <br />any other materials and services required to lawfully conduct the ejection. <br /> <br />Publishing Notice for Deadline for Ballot Arguments, Submission of Ballot <br />Arguments and Impartial Analysis. <br /> <br />The City Clerk shall publish or post a notice regarding the deadlines fur <br />submittal of ballot arguments concerning the measure. <br /> <br />The last day for submission of direct arguments for or against the measure <br />shall be 5:00 p.m. on December 17, 1999. <br /> <br />The last day for submission of rebuttal arguments for and against the <br />measure shall be 5:00 p.m. on December 27, 1999. <br /> <br />The City Council designates Ben Tarver, Tom Pico and Kay Ayaia to <br />prepare arguments in favor of the measure. <br /> <br />Direct arguments shall not exceed 300 words and shall be signed by not <br />more than five persons. <br /> <br />Rebuttal arguments shall not exceed 250 words and shall be signed by not <br />more than five persons, who may be different than those who signed the <br />direct arguments. <br /> <br />The City Attorney shall prepare by December 27, 1999, an impattiai <br />analysis ofti~e measure showing the effect of the measure. <br /> <br />Section 3: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
