11.3 <br /> <br />11.4 <br /> <br />11.5 <br /> <br />11.6 <br /> <br />and unp~.d time away from work ~cause of medical <br />disability prior to and after the birth of a child, shall <br />not exceed one hundred twenty (120) days. An employee no <br />longer disabled because of pregnancy, childbirth or <br />associated medical conditions may apply for additional <br />unpaid leave time for the care of the child under the <br />provisions of Section 11.1 above. <br /> <br />Such request for medical leave will be considered only <br />upon provision of a physician's statement attesting to <br />said disability. <br /> <br />During extended medical leave, an employee shall not <br />accrue vacation or sick leave benefits or be eligible for <br />holidays, nor shall such time be considered as service <br />time. <br /> <br />Any employee returning from medical leave shall be <br />required to provide a physician's release to return to <br />duty. <br /> <br />Jury Leave <br /> <br />Every employee of the City who is called or required to <br />serve as a juror shall be entitled to leave from his/her <br />duties with the City during the period of such service or <br />while necessarily being present in court as a result of <br />such call. The employee shall be paid the difference <br />between his/her full salary and any payment received by <br />him/her, except travel pay, for such duty. <br /> <br />Leaves Resultin~ from <br /> <br />Leave of absence with pay shall be granted to a person <br />while going to and from court and answering a subpoena as <br />a witness. The employee shall be paid the difference <br />between his/her full salary and any payment received by <br />him/her, except travel pay, for such duty. <br /> <br />Military Leave <br /> <br />Military leave shall be granted in accordance with the <br />provisions of law. All employees entitled to military <br />leave shall give the Appointing Authority an opportunity <br />within the limits of military regulations to determine <br />when such leave shall be taken. <br /> <br />Return from Leave <br /> <br />Upon the expiration of a regularly approved leave, the <br />employee shall be reinstated in the position held at the <br />time the leave was granted. Failure on the part of an <br />the employee on leave to report promptly at its <br />expiration shall be cause for discipline up to and <br />including dismissal. <br /> <br /> <br />
