CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 00-033 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION CANVASSING THE ELECTION RETURNS <br />AND DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE MARCH 7, 2000 <br />SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City Council has ordered consolidation of its special municipal election with <br />the statewide general election pursuant to Elections Code Section 10403.5, and <br />such election was held on March 7, 2000; and <br /> <br />the conduct of such a consolidated election is governed by Elections Code Section <br />10400 et seq., and voting precincts were established for the consolidated election <br />in accordance with the Elections Code; and <br /> <br />the canvass has been duly made for Measure I and Measure J: <br /> <br />Total ballots cast were 20,495, representing approximately 62.2% of the <br />eligible voters in the City of Pleasanton. <br /> <br />b, <br /> <br />Measure I: "Shall Pleasanton (1) purchase approximately 430 acres of the <br />500 acre San Francisco Bernal Avenue property for community facilities, <br />open space and other public uses ("public uses") by (a) issuing General <br />Obligation bonds in an amount not to exceed $50,000,000; (b) approving <br />residential development on 35+ acres and commercial/retail development <br />on 37+ acres to the extent necessary to raise the balance of the purchase <br />price; and (2) require voter approval of the City of Pleasanton's plan for <br />future "public uses"?" <br /> <br />Yes 12,265 <br />No 6,890 <br /> <br /> <br />
