WHEREAS , <br /> <br />WHEREAS , <br /> <br /> 2. <br /> 3. <br /> <br />and <br /> <br /> CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br /> STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 75-124 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION SELECTING PROJECTS FOR USE OF <br />FUNDS UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF THE SAFER ROADS <br />DEMONSTRATION PROGRAM. <br /> <br />under the provisions of the 1973 National Highway <br />Safety Act, a program has been established designated <br />"The Safer Roads Demonstration Program" under which <br />the federal government provides ninety percent of funds <br />for approved projects not on federal-aid routes; and <br />projects which may qualify for use of Safer Roads <br /> <br />Demonstration Program funds are limited to the following: <br /> Improved roadway signing and marking. <br /> <br /> Reduce hazards at rail-highway crossings; and <br /> Elimination of roadway obstacles; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, approximately $23,121.00 is available for the City of <br /> <br /> Pleasanton for use on City streets not on the federal- <br /> aid routes; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Engineering Division of the Department of Housing <br /> and Community Development, in conjunction with the <br /> Department of Field Services, has submitted to the <br /> Engineer's Subcommittee of the Alameda County Trans- <br /> portation Advisory Committee, certain projects upon <br /> which preliminary approval has been received for funding <br /> under the Safer Roads Demonstration Program; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council, at its meeting of June 9, 1975, re- <br /> ceived a report from the Director of Engineering Services <br /> indicating certain projects which should be approved <br /> for funding under the aforementioned program. <br /> <br />NOW~ THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES <br />RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1.
