both from an acquisition standpoint and operation stand- point as well as a breakdown of revenues, including revenues from recyclable materials; and WHEREAS, this information and additional information was reviewed by staff and rate increase alternatives were proposed to The City Council at its meeting of August 25, 1975, in accordance with the City Manager's memorandum of August 20 1975, entitled "Request for Rate Increase - Pleasanton Garbage Service"; and WHEREAS, on August 25, 1975, the City Council reviewed said report and heard public comment on said report (an opportunity for both supporters and dissenters to the rate increase having been allowed full and sufficient time to voice their position); NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The following changes shall be made to the garbage rates within the City of Pleasanton: (1) The monthly rate for one can collection be increasec by 64~ per month to $3.09, and all other residential. and commercial/industrial rates be increased by a like percentage. (2) The minimum dump rate be increased to 65~ and the per cubic yard rate be increased to $1.25. Section 2. The above mentioned rate increases shall become effec- tive on the date that a building permit for the transfer station is issued by the City to Pleasanton Garbage Ser- vice Company, Inc. Section 3. The term of the franchise agreement with Pleasanton Garbage Company, Inc. shall be extended until June 30, 2000. Section 4. City staff shall undertake a study to determine if the minimum dump rate charge should be increased to $1.00 and the per cubic yard rate be increased to $2.00 with the excess monies which are collected being deposited in a -2-
