both from an acquisition standpoint and operation stand- <br /> point as well as a breakdown of revenues, including <br /> revenues from recyclable materials; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this information and additional information was reviewed <br /> by staff and rate increase alternatives were proposed to <br /> The City Council at its meeting of August 25, 1975, in <br /> accordance with the City Manager's memorandum of August 20 <br /> 1975, entitled "Request for Rate Increase - Pleasanton <br /> Garbage Service"; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on August 25, 1975, the City Council reviewed said report <br /> and heard public comment on said report (an opportunity <br /> for both supporters and dissenters to the rate increase <br /> having been allowed full and sufficient time to voice <br /> their position); <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES <br /> RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section 1. The following changes shall be made to the garbage <br /> <br /> rates within the City of Pleasanton: <br /> <br /> (1) The monthly rate for one can collection be increasec <br /> by 64~ per month to $3.09, and all other residential. <br /> and commercial/industrial rates be increased by a <br /> like percentage. <br /> <br /> (2) The minimum dump rate be increased to 65~ and the <br /> per cubic yard rate be increased to $1.25. <br /> <br /> Section 2. The above mentioned rate increases shall become effec- <br /> tive on the date that a building permit for the transfer <br /> station is issued by the City to Pleasanton Garbage Ser- <br /> vice Company, Inc. <br /> <br /> Section 3. The term of the franchise agreement with Pleasanton <br /> Garbage Company, Inc. shall be extended until June 30, <br /> 2000. <br /> <br /> Section 4. City staff shall undertake a study to determine if the <br /> minimum dump rate charge should be increased to $1.00 and <br /> the per cubic yard rate be increased to $2.00 with the <br /> excess monies which are collected being deposited in a <br /> <br /> -2- <br /> <br /> <br />
