CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 75-177A <br /> <br />APPROVING MODIFICATION OF CONTRACT WITH PLEASANTON <br />GARBAGE SERVICE, INC. RELATING TO GARBAGE RATES <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS , <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS , <br /> <br />on July 21, 1971, the City and Pleasanton Garbage Company <br />Inc. entered into an exclusive franchise agreement for <br />garbage and refuse collection within the City of Pleasan- <br />ton; and <br />said contract, in addition to establishing the rights and <br />liabilities of parties also set forth the collection <br />rates applicable within the City limits; and <br />on January 28, 1974, said agreement was modified to re- <br />flect increased rates for garbage collection within the <br />City limits; and <br />pursuant to the provisions of the franchise agreement of <br />July 12, 1971, Pleasanton Garbage Company is obligated <br />to provide a refuse collection area within three miles of <br />the City of Pleasanton; and <br />the existing Vineyard Avenue collection site will soon <br />run out of space; and <br />the Pleasanton Garbage Service Company and the City <br />Council of the City of Pleasanton have determined that <br />a preferable alternative means of garbage disposal would <br />be the establishment of a transfer station within the <br />City of Pleasanton; and <br />the location for said transfer <br />at a site located on Bush Road; <br />in order to fund the <br /> <br /> station has been establishmd <br /> <br /> and <br /> <br />transfer station and to provide <br /> <br />WHEREAS, City staff has <br /> <br />sufficient return on investment, Pleasanton Garbage <br />Service requested an increase in the collection fees; <br /> <br /> required Pleasanton Garbage to provide <br /> <br />information relating to the cost of the transfer station <br /> <br /> <br />
