CITY OF PLEASANTON COUNTY OF ALAMEDA STATE OF CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 75-177A APPROVING MODIFICATION OF CONTRACT WITH PLEASANTON GARBAGE SERVICE, INC. RELATING TO GARBAGE RATES WHEREAS, WHEREAS, WHEREAS, WHEREAS, WHEREAS, WHEREAS , WHEREAS, WHEREAS , on July 21, 1971, the City and Pleasanton Garbage Company Inc. entered into an exclusive franchise agreement for garbage and refuse collection within the City of Pleasan- ton; and said contract, in addition to establishing the rights and liabilities of parties also set forth the collection rates applicable within the City limits; and on January 28, 1974, said agreement was modified to re- flect increased rates for garbage collection within the City limits; and pursuant to the provisions of the franchise agreement of July 12, 1971, Pleasanton Garbage Company is obligated to provide a refuse collection area within three miles of the City of Pleasanton; and the existing Vineyard Avenue collection site will soon run out of space; and the Pleasanton Garbage Service Company and the City Council of the City of Pleasanton have determined that a preferable alternative means of garbage disposal would be the establishment of a transfer station within the City of Pleasanton; and the location for said transfer at a site located on Bush Road; in order to fund the station has been establishmd and transfer station and to provide WHEREAS, City staff has sufficient return on investment, Pleasanton Garbage Service requested an increase in the collection fees; required Pleasanton Garbage to provide information relating to the cost of the transfer station
