MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br /> between <br /> CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> and <br />PLEASANTON FIREFIGHTERS, I.A.F.F. LOCAL 1974 <br /> <br /> This Memorandum of Understanding is entered into pursuant to the provisiol~s of <br />Sections 3500-3510 of the Government Code of the State of California. <br /> <br /> The Employee Relations Officer (City Manager) is the representative of the City <br />of Pleasanton in employer-employee relations matters and the Joint Powers Agency has <br />been designated representative for the purposes of meeting and conferring. <br /> <br /> Pleasanton Firefighters I.A.F.F. Local 1974 is the formally recognized employee <br />organization for the Firefighter Employees U~it. <br /> <br /> The parties have met and conferred in good faith regarding wages, hours and <br />other terms and conditions of employment for the employees in said representation unit, <br />and have freely exchanged information, opinions and proposals and have endeavored to <br />reach agreement on all matters relating to the employment conditions and employer- <br />employee relations of such employees. <br /> <br /> This Memorandum of Understanding shall be presented to the Pleasanton City <br />Council as the joint recommendation of the undersigned parties for salary and employee <br />benefit adjustments for the period commencing August 1, 1975 and ending June 30, 1977. <br /> <br />The wages, hours and conditions of employment shall be as follows: <br /> <br />1. Effective August 1, 1975, the City shall contribute an amount necessary to provide <br />hospital and medical care benefits under the.present Blue Cross Plan or Kaiser B Plan <br />for the individual employee and a portion of the amount necessary to provide coverage <br />for eligible dependents; provided, however, that in no event shall the City be obligated <br />to contribute an amount in excess of Forty-eight Dollars ($48.00) per month per employee <br />to provide the aforesaid coverage. Effective January 1, 1976, the maximum amount shall <br />be increased to Fifty-two Dollars ($52.00) per month, and effective August 1, 1976, the <br />maximum amount shall be increased to Fifty-seven Dollars ($57.00) per month. <br /> <br />2. The salary ranges of each classification shall be increased effective August 1, <br />1975 to provide monthly salary ranges as follows: <br /> <br />CLASSIFICATION <br /> <br />STEP A STEP B STEP C STEP D STEP E <br /> <br />Fireman $1113 $1169 $1228 $1290 $1355 <br /> <br />Lieutenant 1258 1321 1386 1456 1530 <br /> <br />3. Effective August 1, 1976, the salary rates for each classification shall be <br />adjusted to reflect an increase which shall be determined as provided below onthe <br />basis of the Consumers' Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers-- <br />San Francisco-Oakland, California--All Items (1967=100) hereinafter referred to as <br />the 'IIndex." Such salary increase shall be computed on the basis of the change in <br />the Index from March 1975 to March 1976 as follows: <br /> <br />Wage Increase <br /> <br />Index at March 1976 <br /> <br />5% 166.6 and below <br />5-1/2% 166.7 - 167.6 <br />6% 167.7 - 168.6 <br />6-1/2% 168.7 - 169.5 <br />7% 169.6 - 170.5 <br />7-I/2% 170.6 and above <br /> <br />EXHIBIT <br /> <br /> <br />
