NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. The City Council determines that full use of the
eight lanes under construction between Dublin-City of
Pleasanton and Hayward would be most beneficial to the
residents of the Livermore-Amador Valley and individuals
using Interstate 580.

Section 2. Notwithstanding the settlement agreement entered
into between the United States Department of Transpor-
tation, Federal Highway Administration, California
Department of Transportation, Business and Transpor-
tation Agency of the State of California and the Sierra
Club, and executed on May 29, 1975, which restricted
the use of one lane in both East-West four-lane facil-
ities, the City Council favors the removal of such
restrictions in order to restore the improvements to
1-580 to an eight-lane vehicular freeway with four lanes
available in both East and West directions.

Section 3. The City Council authorizes the City staff to remair
in contact with and work with other groups for the re-
moval of said restrictions in order to allow 1-580 to
be a complete, useable eight-lane freeway.

Section 4. This

upon its

Dated: October 28,

Attest:

William H.
