WHEREAS,

upon conclusion of the public hearing, the City Council
considered the revised General Plan, together with the
testimony presented and the documents which had previousIv
been transmitted to the City Council and which was before'
the City Council at said meeting;

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:

Section

1. Adopts a revised General Plan for the City of
Pleasanton which is more specifically set forth in the
document entitled "Pleasanton General Plan 1976," attached
hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated herein by reference.

Section

2. Specifically finds that the General Plan 1976 and
Environmental Element sets forth the environmental effects
of said General Plan and specifically provides for miti-
gation measures which will obviate significant adverse
effects that can be expected by the development of the
City of Pleasanton in accordance with the proposed General
Plan. Council recognizes that the General Plan will have
some adverse environmental effects which will not be
totally mitigated. However, Council believes that the
implementation of the revised General Plan with said
environmental effects is of greater benefit to the commun-
ity by promoting a plan for future growth which will give
guidance to future Councils, commissions and staff.
Furthermore, Council believes that the consideration of
the environmental effects of individual projects as they
develop, together with advances in technology during the
period in which this General Plan will be implemented
will more particularly identify potential mitigation
measures for significant environmental effects which
cannot at this time be completely mitigated.

Section 3. Authorizes and directs the City staff to undertake the
preparation of an implementation program to effectuate the
goals, objectives and policies set for6h in said General
Plan and especially devise a program for determining the
appropriate method of allocating development within the
community on a logical basis over a 20-year period pro-
posed for the General Plan.

S~tion 4. Figure IV-4 , Page IV-49 of the Environmental Element
to the revised General Plan is amended to delete the
extension of Stoneridge Drive shown east of Hopyard Road
and connecting with the extension of West Los Positas
near Santa Rita Road. The staff is directed to undertake
a study of the area north of West Los Positas, east of
Hopyard Road, west of Tassajara-580 interchange and south
of 1-580, in order to determine the appropriate traffic
circulation pattern for said area. In addition, staff
should obtain the imput of interested citizens in the
preparation of said traffic circulation study.

Section 5o Copies of this resolution should be sent to appropriate
state officials to inform them of the adoption of the
Revised General Plan as well as the adoption of an envir-
onmental element relating to said General Plan and to anyi
i r n

-2-
