MEREAS, <br />MEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />~E~AS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />.WHEREAS, <br /> <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 76-27 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ADOPTING A REVISED GENERAL PLAN <br /> <br />the City Council, at its meeting of September 16, 1968, <br />adopted the City's first General Plan in compliance with <br />§35600, et seq., of the Government Code; and <br /> <br />due to the growth of the City of Pleasanton since the <br />adoption of the original General Plan and the growth of <br />regional and state agencies which are concerned with the <br />development of population centers, it is necessary that <br />the original General Plan be replaced; and <br /> <br />the City Council, at its meeting of December 17, 1973, <br />adopted a tentative new General Plan; and <br /> <br />subsequent to the adoption of said General Plan, an <br />economic feasibility study was made of said plan; and <br /> <br />the City Council by Resolution No. 75-236, established <br />population benchmarks to be included in a new General <br />Plan which indicates that the population of the community <br />by 1996 will consist of approximately 48,700 individuals, <br />said figure being in accordance with the E/O population <br />projections established by the State Department of <br />Finance Projection II series; and <br /> <br />in accordance with the California Environmental Quality <br />Act, Public Resources Code, §21000, et seq., and §15148, <br />Division 6, Title 14 of the California Administrative Code, <br />an environmental element has been prepared and added to <br />the tentatively adopted General Plan; and <br /> <br />copies of the proposed General Plan, and especially the <br />environmental element, have been made available to the <br />general public at the City administrative offices, 200 <br />Bernal Avenue, and at the public library; and <br /> <br />said revised General Plan was submitted to the Planning <br />Commission for its consideration and recommendation at a <br />special meeting held on February 4, 1976; and <br /> <br />the Planning Commission, subsequent to the consideration <br />of testimony from the general public in regard to adoption <br />of said plan and upon conclusion of deliberations among <br />its members, adopted Resolution #1392 (A Resolution <br />Recommending Adoption of General Plan); and <br /> <br />the City Council, at its meeting of February 9, 1976, had <br />before it the staff report relating to the adoption of <br />the revised General Plan, a copy of Planning Commission <br />Resolution #1392, a copy of the documents comprising the <br />General Plan, including the environmental element of said <br />plan, and received visual displays relating to said plan <br />from the City staff at the aforementioned meeting; and <br /> <br />the City Council conducted a public hearing relating to <br />the adoption of the General Plan at which time interested <br />members of the audience were afforded the opportunity to <br />express their views to the City Council relating to the <br />revised General Plan; and <br /> <br /> <br />
